Shocked.
That's what I was when our meals arrived. What looks like a hole-in-the-wall from the road and a busy bar at night shocked me with the freshness, quality, and selection of food.
It started with the bartender turn lunch waiter. He was friendly, laid back and a complete pro. Attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, he had a little friendly banter with my two kids, answered every question, recommended a beer I had never tried, and was available as needed.
From the outside, this bar / restaurant doesn't look like a place you'd really want to stop. My son saw the cartoon alligator logo on the building and we were hungry. Inside, this looks like a busy evening bar with enough pine accents to make me think that country music frequents the weekend playlist.
The real win here was the food. I was surprised with the home made pizza, the Shrimp Poughboy, and the burger that we ordered. They were made from fresh ingredients and with obvious care.
I don't often hand out 5/5's, and I can't be sure that my great experience here wasn't due to a slow afternoon at an otherwise busy establishment, but it's hard to ignore excellent service, a relaxing patio, and outstanding food.
The next time that I'm in Paris, I may very well trade the views of the Grand river for the parking lot patio and exceptional food. -

I went with my wife for our anniversary dinner here. We started with alligator for our app. They were the smallest pieces I've ever seen. They were the size of home fries. The server told us they had a wing special and on the menu it said it came with fries, garlic bread and veggies. When she brought my plate it just had 8 wings nothing else. The wings were insanely salty. My wife had shrimp tacos that were just terrible. Loaded with guacamole and canned Pico de Gallo. The dining room also smelled like a damp basement. Never will we be going back

Service is friendly, food is good, prices are reasonable and the menu has great options. Out of the small amount of restaurants that are available in this area this one is one of the best places to go.
